3 FLD 448 SO
For grinding cam rings
“Rotary finger chuck for high-productivity grinding of the internal contour of cam rings”
The hydraulically actuated 3 FLD 448 So rotary finger chuck was specifically developed for the safe and precise clamping of cam rings during machining of the internal geometry. The workpieces are located directly in existing bores, ensuring reliable and accurate referencing. Thanks to the axial clamping principle, the area of the workpiece relevant to the machining process remains optimally accessible. At the same time, the clamping concept enables short changeover times of less than five minutes, supporting flexible and cost-effective production. The chuck features three rotary fingers arranged on a pitch circle diameter of 368 mm and is suitable for workpieces with diameters of up to 330 mm. A precision interface between the chuck and the accessory sets ensures high positioning repeatability of < 0.01 mm.

Flexible changeovers – precise positioning
The workpiece-specific accessory sets enable quick and precise adaptation of the 3 FLD 448 So rotary finger chuck to different workpieces and machining requirements.
Each accessory set is based on an adapter plate with a precision interface and includes the workpiece-specific axial stop, three rotary fingers, and three ejectors. Locating pins ensure defined and repeatable workpiece alignment.
The rotary fingers and ejectors are connected via quick-change interfaces, allowing the workpiece-specific components to be replaced with minimal effort. The precision interface between the chuck and the accessory set ensures high repeatability and reduces the setup effort required after a changeover.
This allows a single base chuck to be used flexibly for different workpiece variants – with short changeover times, high process reliability, and repeatable positioning.
